2. Samsung confirms investment in 1cnm memory production line at Pyeongtaek P4 factory, which will be put into production in June next year
According to Korean media, Samsung Electronics has officially confirmed internally that it will invest in the construction of a 1cnm DRAM memory production line at the Pyeongtaek P4 factory, targetingIt will be put into operation next June..The Pyeongtaek P4 factory is planned to be divided into four phases. The first phase was originally scheduled to produce NAND flash memory, the second phase was for logic foundry, and the third and fourth phases were for DRAM memory. Currently, Samsung has introduced DRAM production equipment in the first phase, and the construction of the second phase has been put on hold.
It is reported that 1c nm DRAM belongs to the sixth generation 20-10nm memory process. Currently, no related products in the industry have been officially released. Samsung plans toMass production of 1c nm memory will start at the end of this year, taking the lead in seizing the high ground of advanced memory technology and easing the memory demand pressure driven by AI servers.
3. Institutional forecast: the automotive MCU market size will reach US$10.9 billion in 2024
Statistics and forecasts from Sigmaintell show that the global automotive MCU market will be approximately US$10.9 billion in 2024, a year-on-year growth of 8.3%.Although global automotive MCU prices are expected to fall by 5%-8% year-on-year this year, and the price reduction trend will continue until mid-2025, the industry has sufficient long-term growth momentum.
The current terminal market growth is slowing down, and the growth rate of MCU scale has dropped significantly compared with the period of rapid growth of electric vehicles in 2021-2022. However, driven by the trend of automobile intelligence, electrification, and connectivity, the proportion of high-performance automotive MCUs will continue to increase, continuing to support the growth of the revenue scale of the entire automotive MCU market.
4. Kioxia’s Q1 revenue reached a new high, and the average product price increased by 15% year-on-year
